Coach’s Note: One Step At A Time

One step, of any size, in the right direction is progress.

Whether you’ve picked up 918345 new hobbies and have completely renovated your house over the past couple months, or if you’ve really struggled even getting out of bed in the mornings, you’re in good company.

The entire planet is going through change, and we’ve all had mixed actions and reactions to what’s going on in our own little bubbles. It’s been harder for some than for others, but we’re all in this together. If only we could bond like this over exciting circumstances!

As a Coach, I obviously have a lot of conversations about making progress: quantifying it, mapping it out, and figuring out what it’s going to take. I tend to break down the progress conversations into their smallest parts. We always talk about “the next best step” and what that looks like. Sometimes these steps are massive and require putting all your eggs in one basket – yet sometimes these steps are simple and almost too easy.

Moving from one day to the next in this current climate, be encouraged to hear that one step, of any size, in the right direction is progress. If you can handle the big steps, take them. If you can handle the small steps, take them too. Regardless of your step size (in your fitness, in your family, in your job), you can start to build confidence and momentum as you take each day one at a time. This month’s program is geared at this exact thought process. Do what you can handle. Skip what’s unnecessary. Invest in what’s important to you.

I hope you enjoy the following articles, podcasts, workouts, and nutrition information as you navigate each day. We’ll see what next month brings, but for now, keep up the great work!
